Gary has won numerous regional and national championships throughout his career, including the prestigious World Karting Association (WKA) Gold Cup and Manufacturers Cup, the Rock Island Grand Prix, USAC's Battle at the Brickyard and the biggest race of them all, the CKNA Grand Nationals.

After years of racing, Gary took his passion for karting to the next level and began working as the Briggs 206 builder at Comet Kart Sales. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the top engine builders in the industry, and his engines were highly sought after by racers across the country.

In the summer of 2022, Gary decided to take his knowledge and expertise to the next level by opening Lawson Speed Shop. The shop is dedicated to providing the highest quality engine tuning and preparation services to kart racers of all levels.
